I need to make a confession: I am a coffeeshop addict. For years I thought my addiction was to caffeine, but I later discovered that it’s more about the environment than about the substance. Like any addiction, it requires a gradual increase in dosage to reach satisfaction, and Double Shot gave me that, in every sense. I could never get enough coffee, and the stronger the better, so Double Shot has an appealing name, matching it with robust and tasty blends.

I also found bliss in the innovative scene they’ve put together here. From the inspiring paintings on the walls, to the neon light inviting you to “Follow the white rabbit” downstairs, Double Shot goes as far as using the brew group of a barista machine as a flush button. The indoor plants & large windows keep the atmosphere bright and airy, while the menu offers scrumptious breakfasts & salads for lunch.   

The colourful and artsy Double Shot is close to the Central Market and a few metres from Váci, the most commercial street in Budapest. It’s hidden, and that’s a guarantee for top quality. The founders say they chose this location because the street looks Parisian, and I really I love how creative they got with this spot. This made me brave enough to venture out with something different from a black coffee. Keep it between us, but their Blue Smurf coffee rocks!
