The Alte Metzgerei (literally the Old Butcher’s Shop) is a burger and grill restaurant where you will find my favorite burgers in the whole city. Their burgers and burritos are made from regional products and contain a 150 g homemade patty made from 100 % responsibly raised beef. As an alternative to beef, they also offer pulled pork and chicken, as well as veggie patties (sweet curry or Mediterranean).

My favorite burgers from the Alte Metzgerei are the Hot Piri-Piri (spicy chili cream and jalapeños), Mushroom (garlic cream and mushrooms), and Smoked Chipotle (chipotle cream and fried onions) burgers with a beef patty. Their coleslaw is equally delicious. Sometimes, they also offer daily specials. You can order your burger or burrito by phone, and either eat there (it is a quite small restaurant), or take your food away.
