Holm Kaffeerösterei Café in Cologne Lindenthal is right next to where my subway stops when I go to the office. Holm Kaffeerösterei Café opened in September 2022, but as I mainly work from home, I only noticed it last summer. And of course I had to try it. The atmosphere is both minimalist and warm, and there is a good selection of drinks (there are always two different espressos and a filter coffee on tap) and pastries such as tartelettes, carrot cake and cinnamon buns. The first time I went I had a double espresso and a pumpkin cheesecake (pictured), both delicious!
They have actually been roasting speciality coffees in their roastery since 2019. Then they opened a café in Cologne Lindenthal with Miriam Caspers, the owner of the equally-lovely Café Walter. You can buy their filter coffees and espresso roasts in 250g and 100g bags, and they also offer courses (Barista, Latte-Art and Sensorik).
If you feel like a walk after your coffee and/or a pastry, I recommend a stroll through the Stadtwald park, or perhaps a walk to the Melaten Cemetery or to the Lindenthal Kanäle, where you can also admire the Brutalist gem that is the Catholic Church of Christi Auferstehung.
