This little café has become one of my favourite spots in Sülz-Klettenberg! It's an absolutely likable mixture of an Italian café-bar, a deli and a "Büdchen" and I regularly have my breakfast here or just a quick chat with the lovely owner Grischa. You'll find Savoca on the nice tree-lined Gottesweg, which links the Cologne neighborhoods of Sülz, Klettenberg and Zollstock. The spot is really tiny, but you will be surprised by the wide range of products you can purchase at this place.
First of all there is coffee, prepared as Italian espresso specialities. With the coffee (to stay or to go) you have the difficult choice between homemade cakes, delicious bread and pastries and a range of toasts and panini with cheese, salami or baked vegetables.
The shelves on the walls are filled with a variety of culinary specialties: olive oil, fruit spreads and honey, bottles of wine, coffee beans, Italian cookies or chocolate, and even the typical Büdchen-stuff like a to-go-beer, newspapers and cigarettes which by no means look ordinary in this pleasant little shop.
In summertime you can have your coffee or aperitivo on the ever-expanding terrace outside – when the weather is bad you will hopefully be lucky enough to catch one of the few seats inside. Meanwhile, the super delicious ice cream has been "outsourced" and is now available right next door at "Savoca Manifattura".
