The history of the building is a story on its own, so lets stick here to the museum. A museum of folklore makes me think of dusty, smelly roooms and boring stories. This museum proves that the opposite is possible. The left wing focuses on the 19th century local customs and mainly the rites of passage.
The right wing tells the story of the 20th century Flemish life. Various objects, rooms and curiosities will draw your attention. If you want to find out which iron your mother was using in the sixties or what commercials your grandfather was looking at in seventies, this is the place to be.
Here you can also find a quiet interior garden, a small café and an interesting shop. This place is well worth a visit if you´re interested in the ordinary, though the museum presents this in a extraordinary way. Find out and discover yourself!
