This basement pub not far from Finnieston is cosy in winter and the pretty beer garden is a good place to relax in the summer. But the best thing about it is the top notch pub grub.
I can't see past the sticky pork salad (£5.50 for a small plate, £8.50 for a big plate) and the crispy baby squid (£4.25); pals vouch for the Sunday roasts (around £9) and the pizza (£6.95 - £8.95). They do deals like 'two steaks and a bottle of wine' on Fridays for £25. There's a decent choice for vegetarians on the menu too. Cocktails are cheap during the week - £4.50 for a mojito.
Big Slope is near to Kelvingrove Park, so it's popular with dog owners and dogs are welcome both inside and outside the pub. It's also popular with football fans at the weekend as the matches are on TV. If you want food at the weekends, you'd better book a table and save some space for the sticky toffee pudding.
