I started noticing one of these amazing pieces of art during one of my daily walks exploring the West End of Glasgow. It was in one of the little side streets lanes that I noticed many of these colourful pieces placed all around and they immediately put a smile on my face. I loved the colours and style, plus they are made out of ceramic! As I kept walking, I noticed more and more and became curious.

On the following walks, I decided to keep my eyes and camera ready for the next piece and I found some more in the East End of Glasgow too! This one featured in the pictures is located in Mansfield Park, where the Partick Farmers Market takes place.

After a little research, I found out that this is the work of local artist Louise McVey, who is a ceramic artist. She started placing small pieces all around the West End as an experiment to make a difference for people during their walks, especially during the lockdown.

I love these graffiti ceramics and I think is a great way to brighten up some winter walks when the Glasgow weather makes everything grey.

I have now set a task from my walks and decided to try and find as many pieces as possible. You should give it a try too, it’s also a great way to explore the city like a local and discover new spots!
