The Barras market has been an institution in the city since the 1920s. Some say it has seen better days, but it's still a great place to spend a few hours at the weekend. The stalls inside sell a huge variety of stuff. You can buy bikes, CDs, DVDs, old military bunnets, flights for your darts and there's a good old-fashioned sweeties stall. Outside you can get your hands on anything from viagra to old vinyl.
Looking for some quality second-hand furniture or maybe a deactivated AK-47? Check out Randall's market and don't miss Art-San Toi Gallery on Moncur Street for great art by local artists.
There are plenty wee cafes for your morning roll and cup of tea and there's even a resident fortune-teller.
The best music venue in Glasgow, the Barrowlands is nearby. Check out the website to see who's playing. The atmosphere in this fine venue is second to none.
