Dondurmacı Ali Usta offers a wide selection of ice cream flavors. Portions are generous and they let you combine two flavors in one scoop. You can also add chocolate sauce and hazelnuts as a topping. They have both cone and cup options. It used to be pricey but now that most ice cream shops raised their prices, the prices here in Dondurmacı Ali Usta may be considered even reasonable.
I like the almond and mastic flavors most along with the fruity ones. Especially the almond one with the roasted almond pieces in it is usually my first choice. On cold days, instead of eating ice cream, you can drink sahlep (a traditional winter beverage prepared with milk and orchid roots and generally topped with cinnamon).
Ali Usta is quite centrally located in Moda and you can walk to the seaside in 5 minutes after you buy your ice cream - or you can eat at the outdoor or indoor tables at the shop. On a sunny weekend afternoon, expect to wait in the queue. Thanks to the staff, the line moves fast.
