I always crave unhealthy food! I do not know how to describe it, but fatty junk food is like my Achilles' heel. But who can say no to fresh homemade cooking, right? Especially when there is a large variety and everything is very delicious... Helvetia in Asmalimescit, Beyoglu is one of my favorite spots to have a quick lunch. I go there whenever I miss my mom's food and want to eat something healthy.
There is plenty of meat or vegetable dishes in the showcase fridge and you can choose whatever you want to create your own plate. The dishes are laid out on trays and they will prepare your plate according to your choices.
The place is not very big and so the tables are communal, but this makes you feel cosy.
Helvetia has dishes for all kinds of tastes like cold, warm, vegetarian and so on... Rice, bulhgur, spinach, lentils and chickpeas, as well as chicken, meatballs and so much more. This makes you feel like you've just been invited for lunch by a Turkish family. Bon appetit.
