I am not sure how many times I'd passed outside this place and I'd never thought it'd be that good. It was definitely by chance I saw the menu in front and I found myself straight inside checking all the soups and asking waitresses what was what and which one was better. It is located in the heart of Karakoy and it is very different from its other fancy and popular cafes and restaurants.
Corba means soup in Turkish and it is a kind of ritual for us to have it before main dishes. We even have soup in summertime and we all love it.
Karakoy soup house only offers soup and they have 21 different kinds based on the season.
We bumped into this place this weekend with my friends and we all ordered different kinds. I tried the pumpkin one and I really liked it - it was just like we have it at home.
If you like, you can even mix soups, which I thought was a bit weird but my friend tried it with beetroot and pumpkin and it was alright.
They have only 3 tables inside but they put small tables outside so they can welcome more people. Their service was also very quick.
When I asked the waiter for their working hours he said they are always open. I thought he was joking but no, they are open 24/7! :)
