Tatar Salim is one of the best döner restaurants in Istanbul. They only serve döner as the main dish. The döner is prepared of 100% meat with a special marination recipe here.
One portion of doner on a plate contains 110 grams and is served with lavash. When you order döner, they bring French fries, pickles and green salad free of charge. The salad is especially delicious, thanks to the seasoning of purple basil. They also have döner wrapped in lavash, döner with pilav (a traditional dish with rice), and lentil soup on the menu. As a dessert, their baked sütlaç (rice pudding) is popular among locals since they bake it in a stone oven and use natural vanilla beans in their recipe.
Even in rush hours, their service is quick, and the staff in general is always welcoming. There are few tables outdoors, but they have more space indoors. You might have to wait a bit for the outside tables to be freed up, especially on weekends, but you will usually be seated in a short time as the queue moves fast.
