""La Vitrina" is a bistro-style place with an inexplicable charm. It has the three B's: it's bueno, bonito y barato - that is: good, pretty, and cheap!"

La Vitrina is a place with an inexplicable charm. Little, unassuming and delicious, this place has, as we say in Mexico, the three B's: bueno, bonito y barato - thas is: good, pretty, and cheap.

I love all of the baguettes I have tried so far---Spanish ham with mint jelly, salami with pesto, grana padang with tomato... For a few pesos more, they give you a tumbler with red wine, a nice hot soup and dessert - a slice of bread with mascarpone and honey. I know no better way of ending a meal than with a carajillo, a drink made with a shot of espresso and licor del 43, a liquor made from 43 different Mediterranean fruits and spices, so be sure to have one at the end of your meal.

They sell some of the cheese and jelly they use in their dishes, so if you liked what you ate, you can buy some of the ingredients to take home. So, if you feel like eating something really good without spending big amounts of money - at a place where they do pay attention to the music they play - La Vitrina is my suggestion.
