If I have survived these last months taking the Metrobus at morning rush hour every day, it's thanks to Los Baristas. I make my way into the bus and, in the middle of the crowd, just take a deep breath and think of the delicious coffee I will get as soon as I arrive to the university.
In case you didn't know, Ciudad Universitaria - the main campus of the National University - is a place that you must visit during your stay in Mexico City. Los Baristas is a brew bar that offers seven different pour-over methods and coffee from eight different states of Mexico, toasted by Café Estelar, a group that emphasizes the importance of tracking who produces the coffee and where. If you are lucky, they will still have almond cookies that go perfectly with a French press coffee.
Los Baristas is located right at the entrance of CEPE, a place where Spanish and Mexican culture is taught to foreigners so you could have a peek if you are interested. Biblioteca Central is not far from there either. Don't leave without taking a look at the beautiful murals that cover the building!
