Cafe 2 was previously known as Depo.
It is a simple but great place to have a little snack in Minsk. Basically, they do just one thing – pancakes. Well, a lot of different pancakes, and all of them worth a try!
All of the pancakes have different fillings. You can try a sweet one, for example with maple syrup. But Depo mostly specializes in cheese, eggs, ham, etc. Add some flavor accents to this, like arugula leaves or jalapeno pepper and you get a brilliant taste. Pro tip - order two pancakes per person. You will be 100% full and satisfied.
Apart from that, here you can have cheap but nice coffee, some tea, desserts and sweets.
The place is very popular, especially on weekends. That means that sometimes you will have to wait for your pancake around 15-20 minutes, but I guess this is just more proof of their quality. Plus, all the staff here is working really hard every day. And we, the people of Minsk, love them for it!
A couple of words about why the place is currently named "Cafe 2". All the employees participated in a strike in autumn 2020 during the protests against the election results. After that, they faced political pressure and the spot was forced to close. But with some magic, they opened again! With this very simple name. And, I guess, with some hope to get back their original name someday. So, you don't just get a pancake here - I suppose you also support their spirit of freedm by visiting :).
