We walk and consider Minsk's graffiti. Some works are fascinating, like this one.
This work has made it into Streetartnews' list of best. This is a girl in an embroidered shirt painted on a building at 15 Rabkorovskaya Street. The author is an English street artist with Australian roots, Guido van Helten, known by monumental works in Italy, Iceland, Denmark, Estonia... He realised a similar project in Kiev: a month earlier, a girl in an embroidered shirt appeared on a house on 36b Lesya Ukrainka Boulevard.
The mural in Minsk is naturally different. The author visited Strochitsy - the Museum of Folk Architecture and Life, talked with the museum staff, looked through many books to understand how to combine old drawing traditions with modern ones. The result of this creative search was the image of a girl in modern clothes from which a traditional embroidered shirt peeps out. It's based on a real shirt that is more than a hundred years old.
