Yakub Kolas (real name: Kanstantsin Mitskevich) is an important person in history, especially if we are talking about literature. You will find plenty of objects named after his pseudonym: a square, streets, a library, theatre, etc.
Plus the museum is the place a place that every person who's attended school in Minsk has visited. Here, you can become a guest of the writer, because it's located in the house where Kanstantsin Mitskevich lived about 10 years of his life.
The place is full of artefacts, but not under glass -- everything's at their place: the carpet is on the floor and pens and papers are on the table, as they should be at home. It creates an atmosphere of visiting a house where someone actually lives!
One more reason to love this place: it's located close to the city center and the main street, but you are making few steps away and appearing in quiet yards with old trees and low-level buildings.
Also, Kolas museum lives its own life: it runs events, organizes workshops, lectures, conferences and even quests. Check their web page for detail about upcoming events!
