I met Francesca fifteen years ago, when I got back from Italy. She is a warmhearted woman and a very talented chef. Her three sons are co-owners and help out with the business but she is the heart of that very special kitchen. It felt really good to have this shop right in front of my flat; I could continue to eat great food easily and at an affordable price.
Their specialty is fresh pasta and delicious sauces, but you can find a lot more; marinated shiitake, homemade olives, marinated octopus, amazing espresso, homemade desserts and of course everything you need to make it at home yourself. But the secret of their success is the cafeteria section that offers hot meals (take it out or eat on the spot). Daily you can have risotto, lasagna, pastas, sausages and caponata.
Clients from the neighborhood just can't get enough and keep coming, like myself. It is a must if you are in the Plateau area or if you crave southern Italian food done right.
