Although it’s a bit of a trek from the downtown core of Montreal, the borough of Lachine definitely has its charm. The most scenic and relaxing area is old Lachine and its surroundings, which include Parc René Lévesque, a bike path alongside a lake, and a few restaurants with terraces on Saint-Joseph Boulevard, the street which runs parallel. This is also where you’ll find Le Quai des Glaces.
Situated right next to H8S Cafe, Le Quai des Glaces is an ice cream shop with a growing reputation. More often than not, there’s a long(ish) lineup but just one taste of their key lime pie or mojito (both of which taste like the real deal) and you’ll quickly realize it’s well worth the wait. The gelatos and sorbets are made in-house and if you don’t do dairy, there are also vegan options available. It’s the quality combined with atypical flavours such as Yuzu, matcha, lemon-basil, and speculoos on an ever-changing menu that keeps me and many others coming back for more.
Sit on the sidewalk and eat the most delicious gnocchi for only $5, with a rich tomato sauce and imagine whatever you want in your own alternate reality.

"La Maison des Pâtes Fraîches" in Montreal is an Italian restaurant whose specialty is fresh pasta, but you can find a lot more here. We just keep coming.

"Westmount Park" in Montreal has been around since 1892. It's just huge! My favorite places here are the wading pool and the natural stream...

I was quite smitten with the gnocchi at Restaurant Marconi, not least because a portion of the price of the meal is shared with those in need around town.

"Kouign Amann" Montreal Chocolate is a charming little outdated and colorful decor bakery, and we don't want it to change! Try their raspberry Danish.

Each gallery has its own mandate and style, so a trip to the area will almost always result in a wide assessment of contemporary art practiced in the city.

"Falco" in Montreal is a kind of lunch joint located in the east end of Mile-end. It offers a few delicate and yummy dishes with a Japanese theme!

"Campanelli" in Montreal has nothing inherently special about it - it's just the coffee place I visit on my way to work! I do like the crowd here, though.

"Pigeon Espresso Bar" in Montreal stands out from the rest of the cafes around Atwater & Guy-Concordia. It's perfect for stop & go, esp. the maple latte!

The "Abandoned Malting Factory" in St-Henri, Montreal, is a prime example of how urban decay can prove interesting... I like to wonder at its former glory.

"Kazu": a small izakaya on Montreal's St Catherine street. The food's total bliss, and waiting in line for this Japanese locale is part of the experience.
