It isn't easy to find. Each time I am lost here in front of a 3-storey green wood decorated building. Flowers in pots and green plants in tubs attract people who walk along Groholsky pereulok but there is an exit. The entrance is located perpendicular to Groholsky pereulok – on Prospekt Mira, 26, 5 mins from Prospekt Mira metro station. Look for the Unicredit bank logo, there is a door to the box office and garden entrance at the end of the corridor. BTW on your way to the garden you may dive into the souvenir store or Chaihona №1 cafe or the flower store which are also in this building on the first floor.
I like to rest in Aptekarsky ogorod in May and June. When a riot of colors, overwhelming smells and birds are singing in each corner of the garden. Actually, the garden itself is a small part with only medical plants as part of a large park territory. It has a fountain, a beautiful pond with long-term resident ducks, flower arches, wood scrap paths, benches in the shadow of Peter I, thyme trees and many other pleasant places.
By the way it was our last Tsar of the Tsardom of Russia who established this garden in 1706. What I like most of all - the conservatory of flowers with different orchids and palms in it and in the farthest corner of the park a small hill covered with many conifers.
