Large and Small Sport Arenas, "Druzhba" hall, several football fields and many other buildings are situated on 153 hectares of green (in summer) Luzhniki territory. There is a maze of ice buildings and statues and artificial ice-hills in winter and a beautiful promenade area along the river with two lines (one for strolling, another for bikers). Luzhniki is a good place to enjoy Russian seasons.
I come to Luzhniki mostly for entertainment (relaxation -> swimming and bowling AND fun -> performances). Musicals, concerts and other specific shows are performed in the Small Sport Arena. For example Cirque du soleil set its tent on Luzhniki territory in summer. Sports are available daily till 23:00 which is great! And of course I like to walk through the huge territory and along Luzhnetskaya embankment, especially in the evenings to observe sunsets above Moscow river.
It's better to come here by car otherwise you'll need a bit of time to reach Luzhniki.
