In Russia pancakes are considered a traditional dish. This belief can be argued by the French, who have crepes, or any other nation that has pancakes too, but still, there are a lot of fast-food chains or small cafes which have a menu consisting of nothing but pancakes. But it may satisfy any taste as you can choose between a variety of savory or sweet pancakes.
«Mon blin» («blin» is the Russian name for a pancake) is a kind of mix of traditional pancake cafes (like "Teremok") and French crepes-cafes. I should say they were really creative while thinking up different kinds of pancakes. For example, they have a pancake with rice, which is called "Ukrainian". I like fast food and pancakes, so their "hot-dog pancake" with sliced sausages became one of my favorites. When I am hungry, I usually add a sweet pancake, and I highly recommend the one with coconut, which is called "bounty". If you are starving, just order the "Big Blin", which is as substantial as several burgers, but far more healthy!
What I like about this place is that the food here sounds like and costs as much as fast food, it looks and tastes more like a dish from a hipster cafe. The "Mon Blin" I usually visit is located near "Zvezdnyi" cinema, so it is also a nice option for people who prefer to have a complete menu rather than eat popcorn.
