Some places capture my interest because their smell is from my childhood, they remind me of something from my distant past. So does this museum in the centre of Moscow. Why do I love it? Because there are always different events held here or on the ground in front of the entrance. Last time I came to watch drummers. It was passionate but cold and I longed to get warm. So I entered the building.
There are several levels. The main hall is located on the second floor. I find the exhibition there great. Besides enormous kinds of very interesting huge and tiny musical instruments one more object attracts my attention – it is how local grandmothers keep their eye on each visitor not to shoot unpaid photos.
Once when I was there the ticket also included entry to a local concert which was organized right in the centre of the main room. So I enjoyed some strange but melodious music by a small band. It was a lovely evening. What I learned – it's better to check the agenda for the day to plan everything more precisely.
In the lobby on the second floor you'll find a Schuke organ. From time to time concerts are held here. And I haven't even mentioned the lectures and seminars held here!
