This is my favourite restaurant in Munich. Absolute. Favourite. And not just for the past year, but for the past 10 years!
Cooperativa can be found in Glockenbachviertel, an area littered with cool places to shop, eat and be merry. A neighbourhood where locals love to be and live, because the area has all we want, and all we could possibly need.
First of all, Cooperativa is a turn-up-without-reservation kind of place. This generates a very laid back group of people under one roof. Secondly, they don't mind if you are there to eat or there to drink. Both the beverages and courses are delicious. Especially when I have friends and family visiting me in Munich who aren't vegetarian, its a great place to go that has a wide selection of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. Thirdly, the salads are fantastic. That's it. They are fantastic.
Cooperativa has been a part of my life for many years. I love the friendly waiters, I love how the owner sometimes sits at the bar, drinking beers and laughing with his staff. I love the food. I love going by for an hour after work to catch up, or four hours because I'm celebrating my birthday with friends. I love sitting at the bar and watching the staff prepare drinks. The laughter from other guests. I love sitting outside at the little tables and then suddenly having it start raining.
Like I said, it's my favourite restaurant in Munich.
