If you have never really been to a Biergarten before, Zum Flaucher is the perfect place for you. It has music, it has space, it has a good selection of traditional foods, it has shade and sunshine and it is located away from traffic. Zum Flaucher really encompasses all there is to a Biergarten visit.
Biergartens are an integral part of Bavarian tradition. So if you are stopping in Munich during Summer or even early Autumn, I highly recommend a visit. Zum Flaucher has a great location, because it is accessible by a bike path and footpath. It is spacious, but not overwhelming. It has a small stage which sometimes has people playing music.
I usually spend late afternoon or early evening here at Zum Flaucher... stretching it through until dinner time. I am either playing cards with friends, reading on my own or coming back from swimming in the Isar. I enjoy riding my bike through the trees to get there and home, and I especially love that time of year, in early Autumn, where the last sun rays set behind the trees and you know it's time to go home because suddenly it gets colder, even though it's early.
If you are looking for a simple pleasant Biergarten experience here in Munich, I truly can recommend coming to Zum Flaucher.

"Zum Kloster" to me looks like what a typical Munich restaurant would look like in the '40s. Although it is a proper restaurant, it feels like a gastropub.
