The name GötterSpeise is a play on words.. food of the Gods so to speak, but in German, one can also use the word to describe jelly. In this little chocolaterie it, without a doubt, refers to the first play: food of the Gods.

GötterSpeise is a chocolaterie, fulfilling its duty in providing the world with delicious chocolate. However, it doesn’t stop there. Among a delectable selection of pralines collected in collaboration with a chocolatier and pastry chef, you will also find an assortment of macaroons, sweets, wines, hot chocolates, teas, beautifully prepared and packaged. Many products have been sourced from around Europe, others are fair trade and organic. Among these delicacies, you will find a treasure trove of knick-knacks and objects including recipe books, porcelain ware, decorations and seasonal ornaments. There is even an integrated cafe.

The real magic about GötterSpeise is it has its own concept so to speak. Think Alice in Wonderland meets Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The store is pretty, appealing and enticing. When you walk in there is an explosion of colour. It’s shimmering, it makes you want to play. Sometimes when I am there, I really do get lost in all it has to offer.

What I love most about GötterSpeise is the way it draws me in as I walk by. I want to go in, because you know what? A little chocolate and sparkle in your day can go a long way.
