It doesn't matter if you are monotheist, polytheist or atheist, all people are treated equal in the Holy Home. Good for me, because I do not have any religion.
As far as I can remember, it was one of my first visits to a Munich Bar and that was about 15 years ago. And I guess, it was open many years before my first visit. The good thing: not many things have changed. The old wooden shelf units are still the same and it's roomy - high and impressive like an ancient chapel.
The counter in front of the shelves can be compared with an altar, but instead of wine, like it is custom in a church service, beer is served. The walls are red like blood. But instead of iconic sculptures, the cookie monster sits next to Homer Simpson surrounded by lots of bottles of spirits.
My conclusion: If you are fed up with visiting churches, take a chance and let yourself be inspired by the spirit of Holy Home, Amen!
