The title may seem a bit challenging but it is all a matter of perspective: for an Italian restaurant located in Germany it is rather non-typical while it would be very typical for a place run by young people in Italy – which is exactly why I am fond of this place and its atmosphere. I find it authentic plus the guys there seem to just love what they are doing.
The guys – that is a bunch of Italian friends who started off with importing Italian food before taking things a step further by opening their own little restaurant and bar. I can truly say it feels like you are dining at some friend’s house. This feeling is enhanced by little issues like the food not arriving at the same time but the jolly buzzing atmosphere and the excellent quality of wines as well as the a bit more unusual food make up for that.
The interiors and the music are an eclectic mix of the guys’ personal taste it seems. One of the owners is a musician so later in the evening it can happen that he sings along with his sonorous voice. At weekends they usually have a DJ set. There are a few tables and benches to sit outside but it still gets quite busy so it is better to book.
Quattro Tavoli is located in one of my favourite areas, the Dreimühlenviertel, and near a few other nice places such as Roecklplatz, Yol or Valentin Stüberl.
