This is one my favourite spots for lovely presented, good food. I love the selection of salads with unusual ingredients and the meat dishes. There is also usually a vegetarian or even vegan dish on the not so big but top quality menu. What I like most about the place, however, is that it is a trainee restaurant which gives youths with difficult backgrounds the chance of a career and social stability. This may also be the reason why the atmosphere seems more relaxed than in other restaurants.
The interiors by Munich based designer Nitzan Cohen (formerly working for design wizard Konstantin Grcic) are pure and slightly industrial but nevertheless warm and welcoming. The huge light bulb letters on the walls glow in a warm light and add a certain 1920 NY Broadway feeling to the space.
The little garden with its old trees in front of the restaurant is the place to be on a warm summer's eve and the fact it faces a small square with a playground makes it an ideal spot for families with young children.
In case you fancy a refreshing walk after dinner keep following Isartalstrasse outbound for 100 metres and turn left just before the second railway bridge. Cross the little footbridge across the canal, turn right and dive into the woods! The path takes you along the Isar to the Flaucher embankment in 20 minutes while passing the Flaucher beergarden. This is my favourite walking route whenever I have friends over.
