Yol is one of my favorites in a row of restaurants/bars next to Bavarese, Roecklplatz, Vlentinstüberl and Ennstaler Stubn in the area where I would like to live - the Dreimühlenviertel.
Yol is named after a Turkish movie from 1982 called "Yol" ("The way"). It's the story of three Kurdish prisoners in Turkey after the military coup. The Epos won the golden palm in Cannes. It's a very political motivated and far-left movie, that's why the director had to film some parts secretly.
But I don't want to be too political, that's why I want to talk about the restaurant. And there is no sad atmosphere, rather a very happy and rustic one. Old wooden tables and floors, the waiter is very friendly, the food is simple, but very delicious and cheap. I recommend to order "Kirzatma" and "Sarimsakli Ekmek" (Aubergines and zucchini with tomato sauce and yogurt; flatbread oven baked with goats cheese) as starter.
The prices are unbeatable, and where in Munich do you find beer under € 3?
My conclusion: find your way to Yol, it's worth visiting the Turkish Greek or Greek Turk.
