This is my absolute favorite place in the whole city. For 3 years my office was in this area, so this is the place I had my coffee every single day for 3 years. Now I work at the other side of the city, but I still often go here for a coffee before work or for a beer in the evening.
The real name of this pub is Bulevar which means boulevard, but citizens of Podgorica started calling it Dzada which is a local expression for a street. And now everybody knows it and love it as Dzada. It is a very small local bar that is often crowded because people who love it come here from all sides of the city.
I like Dzada because unlike other places in Podgorica, which are quite "specialized" and target a specific profile of customers, Dzada gathers them all together. Here you can meet students working on their school projects, families living nearby, young modern people drinking on their night out, older couples, pensioners who talk about growing vineyards, artists, journalists, politicians, manual workers, taxi drivers, etc. The place is filled with memories of old Podgorica and it has a small outside seating area. I usually drink espresso or beer in the evening, but people often come here for a special kind of coffee –ginseng.
