Opened in 2018, bar and bistro Grad quickly became a local favourite. Located between the ferry terminal and the local market, the bar makes for a perfect spot to indulge in a g&t or a cheese plate after an evening stroll.
It’s a sleek, classy space whose entire walls are adorned with captivating murals created by local artists. And they have a menu to match – simple but elegant dishes ranging from pasta and seafood to tapas and gourmet sandwiches, including a couple of vegan options.
Personally, I go to Grad for their heavenly desserts. They have the best ice cream in town – try the hazelnut – and phenomenal cakes, made in a popular patisserie in the nearby town of Volosko. The cakes are so meticulously prepared and presented, it’s often hard to pick one from the array on display behind the glass. So don’t pick one! Life’s too short to spend too much time fretting over a dessert menu. Pair the sweets with their fantastic coffee, and you have yourself a treat.
