When you're right in the city centre, it can be difficult to find places to stop for lunch if you just want to make a quick pitstop before getting back out to explore. There are often either sit-down restaurants or takeaway pizza joints with nowhere to sit and rest your feet - luckily, Monteforte Pane e Vino saves the day.
From the outside it looks like a normal bakery (although a very delicious one!), with freshly baked loaves of bread in the window. Once you enter though, it's obvious that they offer much more. Their main speciality is pizza al taglio - by the slice - which they have with a variety of interesting toppings - along with the classic flavours, of course. Alongside that they bake bread and, on Sundays, one counter is completely dedicated to delicious pastries. Everything is made in house that the day.
What makes it a little more special is the attention to detail - it opened quite recently and it has great interior decor, making it a cosy place to settle down (and rest your feet!). They serve coffee all day but they also offer a great selection of wines, so it's a good spot to finish off the day with an aperitivo.
