One of the hardest thing, when I hang around the city center, is to avoid all those restaurants that invite you to come in with every possible method. I always try to find some genuine and good restaurants, even in the most touristic area. One of these is La Ciambella. It's located just behind the Pantheon, in a small street, via dell'Arco della Ciambella, after which it was named.
The atmosphere inside the restaurant is really cozy even if the space is really big. All the furniture seems to have come from an old country house, but is rearranged in a more stylish way. The kitchen is in view, so you can see what goes on and how everything is cooked. A plus that makes everything even more enjoyable is the staff. All the waiters are very kind and friendly. I feel really welcome here.
The menu offers a bunch of things, from breakfast to dinner, there is a variety of choices for all the needs and tastes. A lot of dishes are from the Roman traditional kitchen, revisited and prepared with the best ingredients. They serve also pizzas. I've never tried those here but I've seen them on others' plates, and they looked really good, more or less like all the other dishes there!
