If you're on a exploration mission on Noordereiland, make sure to visit Tante Nino. Don't know who Tante Nino is? That's your super artsy aunt who will give you food for thought but also for your belly.
Tante means aunt in the Dutch language. Her everyday name is Nino Purtskhvanidze and she came from Georgia to Rotterdam for love. Or with love one might say. Love for art. Love for people.
Tante Nino hosts concerts, movie screenings, art exhibitions and dinners accompanied by delightful Georgian wines. She invites musicians from all over the world to play for her 'tribe' in Rotterdam. Among her friends are many talented cinematography artists who choose her gallery to present their creative results.
The atmosphere is always friendly and non-pretentious. You do feel like a valued guest once you have crossed the doorway. You never know who you might meet at one of her events. Her public represents different ages, backgrounds and homelands.
Make sure to check their agenda, you'll be happy to discover that you have plenty to choose from.
