Proudly in the annual top 5 of the most coffee-consuming countries in the world, we Dutchies know our coffee. It is such an essential part of our culture, it is (thankfully) hard to get a bad cup of coffee or as we say in Rotterdam a bakkie. Being a purist, drinking only espresso, I am in love with coffee culture and single-origin exploration.
One of my all-time favorite spots in Rotterdam is at Harvest Café and Bakery. With beautiful views and a sleek but not overdone design, it is a coffee lover's dream. The owners spent time in Melbourne, took what they knew, and improved every aspect. I love getting my card with the coffee I ordered and discovering the origin, and the notes, and concentrating on how it compares to other choices offered because who has one coffee? Every brewing method is provided and if you are feeling a bit peckish, they have an eclectic menu with options for everyone. If, like me, coffee to you is life, then Harvest Café and Bakery will be your vibe.
