If you're a craft beer enthusiast, no visit to the city would be quite complete without paying homage to the home of the city's leading brewery - the AF Brew taproom. It is located a little way out from the centre in an industrial area near the wharfs  - a part of one of the city's most important industries: ship-building. AF Brew is so fashionably hip it hurts, and has a well-earned reputation among the city's craft lovers - just visit their other establishments RedRum or the Camorra chain of pizzerias if you are in doubt.Â
The taproom is housed in the building of the former Stepa Razin brewery (fittingly - Razin was another revolutionary). The building is old, and a hall with vaulted ceilings is reminiscent of a medieval church from other parts of Europe. There is a wide selection of brews on tap - IPA, New England IPA, sours, strong imperial stouts either from the brewery's own selection or from the range of guest beers offered.Â
They have recently started offering tours, so for a reasonable price you can get a tour with the jolly barman, a plate of food from the Indian restaurant (of course) and a chance to try several of the beers on offer.Â
If you have any interest in craft beer it is a must-visit!
