I adore so-called bohemian places where food meets art or even vice versa. Cherdak Hudozhnika - a nice fondue bar located in the attic of the Glass gallery - is one such spot. I like climbing the stairs looking around at the fantastic creatures made from glass and other materials, and enjoying the paintings by the local artists. Sometimes I also visit a corner with handmade stuff for the lower shopping budgets, to buy some funny items for friends or myself.
At the top of the stairs I find myself in a stylish living room with big mirrors, old-fashioned furniture and a romantic glass balcony overlooking the Griboedov channel. It is a pity there are not so many places with a panoramic view over the channels in the city, they are so romantic during the day and so mysterious at night (especially from here when the candles are lit). I always feel like I'm in a fairy tale there.
As the cafe positions itself as fondue bar, the menu promises that fondue receipe and cooking technology was made under the supervision of the General Ambassador of Switzerland in St.Petersburg whom I belive we can trust in such questions. Sipping a glass of wine and enjoying the views of St. Petersburg's roofs all around you is really something special you cannot miss out on.
