I am not such a coffee fan that I can't wake up without a cup of it in the morning or struggle at work without drinking a dozen. However, I always enjoy a cup in a good cafe or at home when my husband makes it on a lazy weekend morning. And the second option is  preferable but not just because of the love there.
My hubby and I once visited a coffee museum - the only one in both St. Petersburg and Russia. We took a 30 min tour that tells the story of coffee making "from bean to cup". Then it was a 1.5 hour coffee tasting - the idea was that the barista used the same roasted bean mix but would make a drink with different techniques: a drip coffee maker, a french press, a cesve, a moka machine and espresso machine. She accompanied the coffee making with different stories about these inventions as well as coffee culture as a whole. The barista was extremely enthusiastic and simply made our day!
We found our favourite way to make a cup of coffee which we now always follow at home and share with the guests, you will find yours for sure. We also bought some coffee beans at the museum shop and continue doing so from time to time. For tours in English please call in advance.
