Have you ever been to a bar from the list of the best 100 bars in the world? I'm happy to present to you El Copitas - a hidden Mexican-esque basement bar.
El Copitas is hidden: it is located in one of the yards in the city center: no sign, not even a hint how to find it.
Now things become interesting and your journey for hidden treasure begins. First you have to call and book a table; there is always a slot, despite its popularity.
You arrive and give a call (please don’t be late). A bartender appears from the dark and escorts you to the secret door, just like in an “Indiana Jones” movie. You will be warmly welcomed with the local speciality - tequila and homemade sangrita - and an interesting story about the place.
El Copitas is run by a team of professionals. Every week they come up with new cocktail ideas. Every drink represents individual emotions and at least one will catch your fancy.
The bar offers a set of Mexican snacks: homemade nachos as a starter, and of course tacos as a follow-up. The Chef comes up with new taco ingredients, and, believe me, you’ll remember that taste.
A few tips before your visit: book a table; don’t be late; cash only.
