Have you ever been to micro-cafe? I hadn't. I was very interested when I read about it and was never disappointed during my visit.
First of all, the way to there is like a mystery: though the formal address is over Kamennostrovsky prospect, you have to access it from Mira street 9. Just go under the archway of house #9, enjoy crossing two yard-wells dating from the end of the 19th century, very typical for that part of St.Petersburg, and you will sense the wonderful smell of pies and coffee. Then you will see a small house from Hansel and Gretel - in reality these are former stables from the early 1900s. Inside there is a tiny but very cozy kitchen with 2 bar chairs and 1 small table for 2 persons.
2 persons will also be at the counter to welcome you, serve you coffee, recommend a dessert and enjoy talking with you while making pastries!
From the very first moments, I felt like I was visiting friends. The owner of this place is a ceramic artist and you find some bohemian spirit around. The coffee mix and roast is of excellent quality and selection, there is a small choice of teas as well but the most exciting is... the cakes and pies and pastries which vary from one day to the next. I wish I had such a cafe close to my place.
Do not miss the brownies. And cheese cake. And tell me what your #1 was.
