Saint Petersburg is filled with sushi places. This kind of cuisine became very popular here starting from 2005, but with every new place it had been losing its origins. In 2017 you can find things like sushi with bacon, but it is unlikely that that can be truly called Japanese.
Nakatika is located on a small quiet alley on Vasilyevsky Island. Its location makes it a perfect place to have a quiet meal especially in summer. There are tables outside, just like in Japan - peace and harmony.
Japanese cuisine is presented in its fullest: sushi, rolls, udons with rice and noodles, soups, dumplings and yakitori. The place is always filled with Japanese exchange students, which makes me believe that the food is really close to the original. Â
Another warm surprise is the atmosphere. The cafe is decorated in truly Japanese style, the staff greets you in Japanese over and above some Japanese pop music.
If you are hungry and on Vasilyevsky Island, Nakatika can be a perfect place to have a quick rest and grab a meal.
