Having been a market from mid-18th century and successfully renovated in 2019, Vasilevsky Market is now a very trendy place — not only for grocery shopping but also for a nice night of going out in Saint Petersburg.
The market includes a shopping area, more or less traditional, for every market, as well as gastro-corner with over 15 different proposals from all over the world served by the best restaurants of the city: hummus from Israel, curry from India, pho-bo from Vietnam, sushi from Japan, pizza from Italy – these are just some examples of what you may try there. Add a coffee corner and a wine corner to ensure you’ll be definitely on heaven.
I believe the Vietnamese corner is the most popular for locals, but I am a fan of Subzero sushi, though I can never resist a glass of mango shake there. Come and find your favourite.
