There is only one address in my home city that makes my heart pump to its extremes.
That's Hamze Hume No.2, the "residence" of the most successful Bosnian basketball club of all time - KK Bosna (Košarkaški klub Bosna).
That's my heart placed on that address.
It is a professional basketball team established in 1951. It has a long and rich history and represents a strong identity mark of Sarajevo.
The most famous player of the Club was late Mirza Delibašić (1954 – 2001).
In 1979 it reached the top of Europe, winning the 1978–79 FIBA European Champions Cup. Bosna defeated Emerson Varese, by a result of 96–93.
It's always too emotional for me to write about my favourite basketball club.
Just a look on the shelf with so many cups makes me profoundly proud and at the same time profoundly sad because of the current difficult financial situation of the Club.
This situation was caused by bad management in the past 25 years and strong political influence that has forced the Club into fighting a big battle, a battle of proving to be a champion to the ignorant that have no respect for its value.
But: once a European champion, always a champion.
If passing by Hamze Hume No.2, local or tourist, believer or non-believer, take a look at the sky and ask the Universe for help. Because only His hand can save this Club, my heart and the hearts of all that love it.
