Ravintola Mazin is a small, humble restaurant in the Kaleva neighborhood on the corner of a building block. But in my opinion, small, hidden restaurants outside of the city center often can give quite a pleasant surprise. Mazin offers dishes from various Mediterranean cuisines, such as köfte, shish kebab, various mezze, and many more!
I first discovered Ravintola Mazin when I was out grocery shopping, and I was quite interested in the fact that they offered Mediterranean food. I haven't seen any other restaurants in Tampere that offer such food, so I was eager to try it! And it was an absolute treat! You can hear, see and smell the cooks working their magic in the kitchen from your seat! I have visited Mazin more than once by now, and can't wait for the next time!
I always sat at a window table, which gives a nice view of Sammonkatu, but if that's not really your thing, you can always sit somewhere else. My favorite dish by Mazin is the lamb skewers (Kuzu shish), but I've enjoyed their köfte as well! I really recommend you go there, as it is not only a taste experience, it is also decently priced!
