Finally Tampere has a great place for outdoor skating in the city center, just next to Tampere Talo. The brand new Sorsapuisto skating rink is huge and well-lit, from early mornings till late evenings, but basically open 24/7. It is the perfect spot to spend a winter day and practice your skating skills with friends!
Sorsapuisto skating rink attracts all kinds of skaters, old and young, to enjoy the Finnish winter. Indeed, there are three different rinks: one for skaters without a hockey stick, the second with a stick and a ball, and the third is a proper rink where you can play hockey.
After skating, I recommend buying a korvapuusti (a cinnamon roll) and a coffee from Puusti cafe, which is almost opposite the main entrance of Tampere Talo. There is a strong rumour in the city that Puusti cafe has the best cinnamon rolls in the Tampere. So they are worth tasting!
