There is no person in Finland or Tampere who doesn't know what Pikku Kakkonen is. It is the most famous children's programme in TV and it is made in Tampere. Pikku Kakkonen came on TV for the first time in January 1977 and it still is on TV from Monday to Friday. Can you imagine?
In the middle of the city centre, right next to the famous Tammerkoski rapids, there is a park called Pikku Kakkonen park. It was built in 1992 and it is full of famous characters from the tv-show and really nice things to do for children (and why not for adults too!). You can climb and swing, run and play with sand. From the park you can see the beautiful rapids and it is really easy to access. It was renovated in the year 2013 so it is in really nice condition.
There are also benches to sit down and eat, you can easily for example buy some takeaway from the nice cafeteria next to the park, Pella's cafe, and enjoy the outdoors. It's a must-see park with kids!
