"Pomegranate is a stylish café owned by a mum and her daughters who moved to The Hague from sunny Australia. Soon it became somewhat of a secret Aussie enclave."
G’day, mate! Whether it’s your daily flattie, eggs benny or just the charming sound of an Australian accent – you can get all that and more at The Hague’s new café Pomegranate. Having opened its doors at the end of 2022, Pomegranate is a stylish café owned by a mum and her daughters who moved to The Hague from sunny Australia. Soon it became somewhat of a secret Aussie enclave.

Every time I have gone to Pomegranate in the last 6 months, I have heard Australian accents in the background. Of course, that’s not the only reason this place is worth checking out. Their food, especially their brunch menu, is utterly delicious. The space is stylish yet spacious and working on your laptop is also permitted. They have an avocado smash, charred asparagus, almond croissants and Anzac biscuits — something for everyone. I started enjoying Pomegranate’s vibes in the winter months of 2023, sitting indoors, of course, but if you’re in The Hague during the summer months, Pomegranate offers lovely outdoor seating on busy Prins Hendrikstraat. After a coffee, snack or meal at Pomegranate, I enjoy strolling up and down Prins Hendrikstraat: there’s always something to discover. But first, go give Pomegranate a try — it’s worth it!

"Hofvijver Island" in The Hague is my favorite part of the famous old dune lake next to Binnenhof. It's only really accessible when the pond freezes over!

Harbor Entrance – Amazing spot for sunsets

The views are sensational, as you are surrounded by water and the sun sets into the sea. It is quiet and there are usually some other people who are enjoying the sunset or fishing in the harbor.
