Hug the Tea is a cute café in The Hague specialising in matcha. Matcha is a type of green tea made from powdered tips of the tea plant. It is one of my favorite kinds of tea. At Hug the Tea, you can get a wide variety of different teas and tasty baked goods. Besides that, they also have a lunch menu.
The interior is minimalistic with a couple of cosy couches in the back, high tables and chairs throughout the place and a counter. The walls are decorated with plants and traditional Japanese fans (which are for sale). Additionally, they sell bags of their own premium matcha.
The café is located in the royal shopping district, so it is a nice stop while you are shopping, walking through the city, or visiting some nearby museums. In the street, some other local shops offer nice things like jewelry and clothes. So when you are in The Hague, this is definitely a lovely place to stop by.
All around Koningsplein are houses built in the neo-renaissance style typical for the area, beautifully maintained with their front doors in bright colors.

The views are sensational, as you are surrounded by water and the sun sets into the sea. It is quiet and there are usually some other people who are enjoying the sunset or fishing in the harbor.
