If you’re a fan of speciality coffee, Single Estate is the place to go to first in The Hague. The building is beautifully renovated, making the café look super modern, clean and stylish. Single Estate is located on the buzzing Piet Heinstraat, just a brief walk away from The Hague’s city centre. Single Estate buys their coffee beans directly from producers in Africa, South and Middle America, roast them themselves and then let experienced baristas do their magic.
With each coffee—whether you’re opting for a milky coffee or a black filter coffee—you will get a little paper card giving you more information about the origin of the beans and the farmer who grew them. As coffee has become such a convenience commodity, leading to our sometimes absent-mindedly sipping on a cup for the sake of staying awake in a busy world, I like that Single Estate is trying to make a change. Sit down, take the time and enjoy. Most of the time they have around three different types of beans to choose from, and the difference in taste speaks for itself. It is handy to know that they also always have a variety of delicious pastries, which they bake themselves in the back of the café. There is indoor and outdoor seating and space to work on your laptop as well. Single Estate has its own web shop, selling its beans and are active on Instagram.
